Babes With Attitude (also known as B.W.A) Defensive Solutions offers firearm and defensive training, CCW certification, and defensive key chains. This name was influenced by renowned rap group, N.W.A. due to it being surrounded by a negative connotation, mostly among people outside of the black culture. This negative attitude towards the group was mainly due to their controversial rap lyrics. However, the group’s intention was to bring light to racism and the over-policing endured in the black community. Similarly, firearms are surrounded by a negative connotation due to them being seen as dangerous. However, firearms serve the purpose to be a means of protection for oneself, others, and/or property. Once again, something that was developed with good intentions was misconstrued to be something negative. B.W.A. Defensive Solutions’ mission is to change the negative attitude towards guns within the black community. More specifically, black women.   

According to statistics, about 8.5 million people in the US brought their 1st gun in 2020. The trade association for the firearm industry reported more than a 58 percent increase in purchases of firearms among Black consumers. Yet, black owners still represent a relatively small portion of the gun-owning population, with 9.3 percent being Black men and 5.4 percent being Black women. 

Babes With Attitude's goal is to join the fight to change the gun narrative and make women feel comfortable and confident.
